Relationships are not easy, and all relationships require some work to be maintained. Relationships also exist on a continuum, consisting of four zones; healthy; struggling; unhealthy; and abusive. This continuum is known as the Intimate Relationships Continuum and is modelled after the Mental Health Continuum model. Relationships move back and forth throughout the model, primarily in the first two zones. When relationships find themselves in the third zone, external support may benefit the relationship. For relationships nearing the fourth zone, where unacceptable behaviors are occurring, seek help immediately. External support and intervention is crucial. Unsure where to go for help? The course is 2 days long and is scheduled from 31 October to 1 November. For more information and to register visit your Health Promotion Team’s website.
