2024 Spooky Sprint Donates Nearly 300 lbs of Food to Angus Foodbank

With hundreds in attendance, this year’s Spooky Sprint made heads turn… in their graves

On 25 October 2024, CFB Borden’s Trillium Trail was littered with ghouls, ghosts and all sorts of terrifying creatures for the annual 2024 Spooky Sprint.

This year saw hundreds of families in attendance who trick-or-treated their way through both the ‘Creepy 1K’ and ‘Freaky 5K’; a one and five kilometer run with cauldrons of candy to retrieve along the way.

The Spooky Sprint is a free event for military members and their families who were encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to the Angus Foodbank at registration.

The Angus Foodbank weighed donations at 295lbs on 6 November 2024.

The 2024 Spooky Sprint wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity and collaboration of our sponsor Poppi’s Italian Eatery – CFB Borden’s very own authentic Italian restaurant!

Poppi’s handed out free kid’s meal coupons to families who ran the trail to give them something delicious to look forward to when they visit.

For the first time, members and their families were able to utilize a Halloween themed photo booth. Check to see if your photo made it below!
