PSS highlighted the dedication and readiness of the unit in Honours and Recognitions ceremony
Members of Personnel Support Services (PSS) on CFB Borden gathered for a special honours and recognitions ceremony at Dyte Hall on 5 November 2024 where Commanding Officer (CO) Lieutenant-Colonel Karyne Brown and Regimental Sergeant-Major (RSM) Chief Warrant Officer Dan Thomas, ordained awards and promotions to seven members of the unit, highlighting the contributions of the exemplary personnel.
Canadian Forces Decoration (CD)
The ceremony began with the presentation of the CD recognizing 12 years of dedicated service.
Among the honorees was MCpl Theresa Byrne, whose career has spanned various roles, including deployments to Kuwait and leadership in supply operations.
Sgt Andrew Gilroy, another recipient, was lauded for his extensive logistics expertise and dedication to mentoring several junior personnel.

Cpl Sherwin Lansangan was acknowledged for his leadership and operational excellence during deployments to Latvia.

Completing the CD recipients was MCpl Tyler Sheel who has gained a plethora of trade knowledge as a Human Resources Administrator.

CO’s Coin
Cpl Kriman Begum was presented with the CO’s Coin for her outstanding work in the Orderly Room, where her efficiency and team leadership have been instrumental. Pte Njenga was recognized for successfully completing her Field Coaching Program, marking her readiness for future responsibilities.

Logistics Cap Badge – HRA Graduate
Pte Margaret Njenga arrived at PSS for her Field Coaching Program (FCP) training in April 2024 and worked hard to complete the program by September 2024.
LCol Brown presented Pte Njenga with a cap badge for her graduation from FCP.

CO’s Address
LCol Brown, commended the dedication and professionalism of PSS members who continually embody the values of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF).
“I just want to take this opportunity to say how proud I am of PSS,” LCol Brown said. “I knew you were more than a team, that you cared about people. And I knew that because everything was ready for me when I arrived… I’ve been impressed since the start.”
The ceremony served as a reminder of the invaluable contributions of PSS personnel in supporting operations at CFB Borden and beyond.
