he Huron Club at CFB Borden came alive with holiday cheer on 8 December 2024, as families gathered for the annual Children’s Holiday Party.
The event, hosted at the Junior Ranks Mess, was a heartwarming celebration that brought together over 400 attendees, including approximately 260 excited children.
From 1300 to 1600 hrs, the event was packed with festive activities that delighted kids and parents alike. Junior Ranks Mess Manager Leanne McCullough was incredibly happy with the turnout.
“We had a lot of positive feedback; it was really a wonderful day!” she said.

Highlights included seven unique craft stations where children created holiday keepsakes, a photo booth with none other than Santa Claus portrayed by Warrant Officer Sean Cook and horse-and-wagon rides that added a rustic charm to the day.
Guests also enjoyed an array of snacks and drinks while festive music kept the dance floor buzzing with energy.
The Children’s Holiday Party provided an opportunity for families to connect, socialize, and share in the joy of the season. Events like these are integral to fostering morale and strengthening the sense of community on Base.
As families headed home, with crafts in hand and their hearts filled with holiday spirit, the message was clear—CFB Borden is a community where the magic of the season shines bright, thanks to the dedication of organizers and volunteers.
