Platinum two years in a row!

A CFTDC member has achieved something few of their colleagues could ever manage to do, and here’s the firsthand account on why they did so. Sgt Tracey Denommee decided to join the military in her forties, and it wasn’t something she took lightly. She knew from the start that she would be stepping into an environment where most of her peers would be younger – sometimes even by decades. That fact alone was enough to make some people doubt whether she could keep up, let alone excel. But for her, that became fuel, not a barrier.

“Physical fitness has always been important to me, but preparing for the FORCE test pushed that to a whole new level. It wasn’t just about meeting the minimum standard- I set my sights on Platinum” she told the UPAR. It wasn’t because she had something to prove to anyone else, but because she wanted to prove it to herself. “I wanted to show that age doesn’t define capability, and that grit, discipline and focus can carry you further than anyone expects” she says.

Sgt Denommee believes that staying physically active is about being ready, mentally, and physically, for whatever life throws your way. No matter your age or stating point, staying active keeps you in the fight – strong, capable, and ready.

Therefore, every training session became a statement: “I can do this. I will do this”. Achieving Platinum twice in a row.
