After eight vibrant weeks of swimming, dancing, learning, and playing, PSP Borden’s annual summer camp wrapped up with a joyful celebration on 22 August 2025. The event, dubbed ‘Camp Prom,’ gave campers a chance to say goodbye to summer in style—this year with a special twist, thanks to the Jays Care Foundation.

A Blue Jays-Themed Finale
With the support of the Jays Care Foundation, this year’s Camp Prom embraced a Toronto Blue Jays theme, transforming the Huron Club, Junior Ranks Mess into a baseball-inspired dance floor. Campers arrived decked out in Blue Jays gear—caps, jerseys, t-shirts, and even blue suits and dresses—ready to dance the night away to music that celebrated both summer and sport.
Jays Care: More Than Just Merchandise
While the jerseys and decorations added flair to the event, the Jays Care Foundation’s contribution went far deeper. As the charitable arm of the Toronto Blue Jays, Jays Care is committed to using baseball as a vehicle for positive social change, especially in underserved communities. At CFB Borden, their support has become a cornerstone of the summer camp experience.
Each year, Jays Care provides programming tools, sports equipment, and branded merchandise that help bring the spirit of the game to life at the Buell Fitness and Aquatics Centre and Andy Anderson Arena. These resources allow camp staff to integrate baseball-themed activities into their programming, promoting teamwork, inclusion, and physical literacy in a fun and engaging way.
Inclusion at the Heart of Camp
This summer marked a significant milestone with a major increase in inclusion staff, ensuring that children of all abilities could participate fully in camp activities. PSP Borden’s efforts have helped create a camp culture where barriers were broken down, and every child felt seen, supported, and celebrated.
Every child—regardless of ability, background, or circumstance—can thrive.
A Community Effort
As counsellors bid farewell to their campers and families prepare for the school year, the Community Recreation team at PSP Borden extends heartfelt thanks to all who made this summer unforgettable including staff, volunteers, parents, campers—and especially the Jays Care Foundation.
Their continued partnership ensures that summer camp at CFB Borden is not just a seasonal program, but a transformative experience that fosters growth, inclusion, and joy through the power of sport.
