Tech Svcs Leads the Charge in Blood Donor Challenge at CFB Borden

On August 21, 2025, the Technical Services (Tech Svcs) unit at CFB Borden made a powerful statement about the strength of community and the importance of giving back. Spearheaded by Chief Warrant Officer Audrey Lamontagne, the first-ever Tech Svcs Blood Donor Challenge saw an impressive turnout of 19 volunteers, surpassing the initial goal of 15 donors.

This initiative was born out of concern for the low donor turnout at previous clinics. Determined to make a difference, CWO Lamontagne rallied her unit to step up—and they delivered.

“I am very proud of this strong turnout and the generosity shown by our members in supporting such an important cause,” said CWO Lamontagne. “Moving forward, I would like to challenge other units on base to take on a similar initiative and build a habit within our ranks of donating blood at every possible opportunity.”

The following Tech Svcs members participated in the challenge:

  • CWO Lamontagne, Maj Lee, Capt Clare, MWO Van Dyk, WO Tozer, MCpl Thibert, Cpl Krishnandabahawan, Cpl Morrissette, Cpl Macdonald, Cpl Wong, Avr Pitcher, Pte Day, Pte Hone, Pte Alnajm, Mr. Flaro, Mr. Romano, Ms. Gordon, Ms. Charette and Ms. Moynahan.

Their collective effort not only contributed to a life-saving cause but also set a powerful example for others across the Base.

Why Donate?
Blood donations are critical to saving lives, whether it’s for trauma victims, surgery patients, or those battling illnesses. Every unit of blood can make a difference, and every donor is a hero.
