CFB Borden transformed into a multifaceted sports arena on 3 October 2025 for Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Sports Day––a day for CAF members to explore various sports programs in a fun, friendly and competitive environment, hosted by Personnel Support Programs (PSP) and presented by Marchants with additional support from Coke Canada, Sobey’s Angus and Poppi’s Italian Eatery.
Kicking the day off, CFB Borden Sports Coordinator, Les Gilson, PSP Corporate Services Coordinator, Tyler Celli and Military Personnel Generational Training Group HQ, Lieutenant Colonel Gary Johnston took a few moments to welcome over 400 members to a day filled with sports like lacrosse, beach volleyball, powerlifting, mountain biking, cornhole, ice skating, bowling, pickleball and more!
“Thank you to everybody for coming to participate in CAF Sports Day today,” Gilson said. “On behalf of PSP and all our team, we appreciate you coming out and spending the day as a professional athlete.”
Throughout the event, members were able to participate in various sporting activities hosted by PSP staff who provided a diverse experience for members returning or brand new to their selected sports.
The highlight of the day were the closing ceremonies hosted in the Buell Fitness and Aquatics Centre, where all in attendance gathered to draw for prizes and gifts.

CAF Sports Day wouldn’t be possible without the generous donations and support from our sponsors. Marchants provided Under Armour Hoodies for winners and Poppi’s Italian Eatery donated the grand prize of two tickets to a Toronto Maple Leafs game!
Coke Canada fuelled the day with Powerade for all in attendance and Sobey’s Angus kept us hydrated with cases of water throughout the event.
