The Borden Golf Club officially kicked off the 2026 season with a ceremonial opening tee‑off at Hole 1, marking the return of one of CFB Borden’s most popular outdoor recreation activities. With the course now open, the Club is ready to welcome Defence Team members back for another season of learning, camaraderie, and friendly competition on the greens. Whether you’re picking up a club for the first time or looking to fine‑tune your game, the Borden Golf Club offers a variety of programs throughout the season for people to check out.

Sport and recreation play an important role in supporting morale and wellness on the base. Lieutenant‑Colonel Michaud emphasized the value of staying active and the accessibility of golf at CFB Borden.

“Sport is a really important part of being mentally and physically healthy. Being active is a healthy way to reduce stress and improve physical fitness. The Borden Golf Club offers great opportunities and leagues for people to learn more about golf, including beginnerfriendly initiatives and coaching.”

Beginner League Supports New Golfers

Golfers who are new to the sport are encouraged to take part in the Adult Beginner Golf League, a six‑week program designed to introduce participants to golf in a relaxed and supportive way. Open to CAF members and CFB Borden employees, the league runs bi‑weekly on Thursdays beginning in June. Each session includes a lesson followed by nine holes of play, allowing participants to apply what they have learned in real time.

Club rentals are available through the Pro Shop, making it easy for those without equipment to take part as well. The league offers a welcoming, low‑pressure environment where people can learn the basics of the game, enjoy time on the course, and connect with other members of the Borden community who are just getting started.

Monday Night Ladies Golf League

New for the 2026 season, the Borden Golf Club is introducing a Monday Night Ladies Golf League, providing a fun and social golf experience for players of all skill levels. The league begins with an opening night on 25 May and runs weekly. A one‑time registration fee includes mid‑season and end‑of‑season dinners, a welcome gift, and weekly prizes.

Lessons and Clinics for All Skill Levels

Golfers interested in improving their game can also take advantage of individual lessons and adult clinics offered throughout the season. Instruction is available for both adults and juniors, with lessons tailored to each golfer’s needs, whether focusing on full‑swing fundamentals or short‑game technique.

Throughout the season, golfers can also take part in club fitting and demo opportunities through the Pro Shop.

Junior Golf Programming

The Borden Golf Club continues to support youth development through its Junior Golf Clinics, giving young players the chance to learn all about the game. Spring clinics focus on beginners aged 6 to 10, while summer programming offers multi‑day clinics for juniors aged 8 to 12.

With the opening tee‑off complete and the course officially open for play, the Borden Golf Club looks forward to another successful season. Members are encouraged to visit the Pro Shop or watch for upcoming communications for registration details, league information, and special event updates.
